Spiritual Success Requires Commitment to God

Success tends to be something our flesh chases. Isn’t it crazy how we tend to spend SO much time learning all the things and putting all of our might towards building a business? Often times we spend SO much time on our goals, that we “run out” of time to spend with God or others.

Trust me, I know. I’ve been there. I’ve made the mistake of chasing success over chasing my God, and I paid the price royally. I fell into major depression and experienced anxiety like never before. What’s crazy is that during the time of focusing on nothing but building a business (without God the center no less), that was the brokest my husband and I had EVER BEEN!!!! Seriously. The brokest!!!! The kind of broke where our hot water was turned off, and we were struggling to get money together to buy bread. It was awful. I blamed it on, “that’s just how it is when you’re first starting out.” Maybe that was half true, but I knew deep down it was because we were out of alignment with God’s word. We weren’t in relationship with Him like we should have been. We were focusing on success and not on seeking first the Kingdom of God. I knew deep down, our blessings were running dry because our passion for God had.

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Matthew 6:33

I knew we had to stop, repent, surrender, & submit.

It was when we finally reversed and redirected our focus that things started falling back into place. Our commitments shifted from committed to ourselves and our worldly success back to being committed to seeking first the Kingdom of God. This was when spiritual success started to manifest in our lives. We started seeing God’s hand work again in our lives. We stopped being stressed and feeling anxious, and started feeling peace and joy again.

Committed to God and His truths will always be the right path. Commitment to what is right helps us to serve others with a pure heart. I love how Matthew 6:33 tells us that “ALL these things will given to you.” It’s such a reminder that when we seek HIM first, our reliance is solely on the ONE who can and WILL take care of us. He will give us all that we need when we need it.

I know building a business requires hard work, and we should work hard. BUT, anything and everything we do should always be Kingdom focused. That’s the only success that matters. Stay prayed up, focus first on God, & let’s DO THIS Y’ALL!!!!!!

xoxo,
